Dr. Jennifer Hoffelmeyer
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Jennifer Hoffelmeyer is the lead veterinarian in the Adel office.  She joined CCAC in April of 2008. She is a 2004 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to entering vet school she graduated from ISU College of Agriculture with a B.S. in Animal Science. In college she was an active member of the ISU Block and Bridle Club and Marching Band.She has practiced mixed animal medicine and most recently practiced in an exclusive small animal hospital in Des Moines for 3 years. Jennifer grew up in Madison County and was active in 4-H and many other activities in the Winterset Community School District. She now resides outside of Winterset and enjoys spending time with her husband, Peter, and their one-year old son, Ethan, and their pets; 3 dogs named Darby, Chester and Cassie; and 2 cats named Simon and Jake. In her free time, she will be cheering on the ISU Cyclones, spending time with family and friends and watching NASCAR.



Dr. John Holcomb
Veterinarian
Owner 

Dr. John Holcomb is the lead veterinarian in our Winterset office. He joins our animal health care team in Adel twice a week. John graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 and has been active in the animal health care field for 14 years. He has experience with small animals, large animals and equine with a special interest in surgeries. He also enjoys being active and involved in community activities where he is able to work with other families and watch their children and pets grow. John has been married to Gretchen for 15 years. They have 2 children; Mitch, who is 12, and Bridget, who is 9. At home they have a cat named “Spook”, who is 16; a cat named “Wally”, who is 1;  a dog named “Buck”, who is 5; a dog named “Sassy”, who is 2 and 1/2; cows and one horse.

Support Staff


Crystal Sharp
Crystal Sharp is our veterinary technician and joined our team in July of 2009. She has worked in the veterinary industry for over 10 years. She previously specialized in emergency medicine and orthopedic medicine. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a B.S. in Animal Science and a minor in Commercial Agriculture. Crystal is from Creston and enjoys photography, scrapbooking, camping and all outdoor activities. She has 2 English Mastiffs named Jewel and Molly and 2 cats named Callie and Squeaks.




Amy Hall
Amy is our newest addition. She joined our team in November as our Veterinary Assistant. Amy is originally from Story City and attended Roland-Story High and Waldorf College, where she received an Associates Degree in Business. She has over 6 years of experience in human healthcare. She and her husband, Steve, reside in Minburn. Amy has one son, Caden, and two step sons, Shade and Alex. They have 2 Pugs named Lucy and Trudy. Amy has been a 4-H leader for the past 5 years and enjoys basket weaving and anything crafty; watching all 3 boys in their sporting events; rasing money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help find a cure for Alex and Shade; and is an avid ISU Cyclone fan.



Kara Christensen
Kara Christensen is our clinic assistant and joined our team in June of 2009. Kara is from Adel and is currently attending Adel-Desoto-Minburn High School. She is in cheerleading and FFA, where she participates in showing livestock.  She has an Australian Shepherd named Roy and 3 horses.
